Makeup Revolution Beyond Flawless Eyeshadow Palette

Hey guys it's Katie,

Today i'm reviewing the makeup revolution eyeshadow palette in the shade beyond flawless.

I'm not one for wearing very bright colours on my eyes, I prefer to use more neutral tones to make my blue eyes stand out more. I bought this palette for £8 in my local superdrug store.

The palette contains 32 eyeshadows. The first thing I noticed was that the eyeshadows are quite small in size but you can't really complain for only £8.

The formula of these eyeshadows are extremely pigmented and you hardly get any fall out at all. I use this palette alot and you can create so many different versatile looks with just this one palette. If you are a beginner at makeup then this would be perfect for you.

The eyeshadows are extremely buildable and blendable which means you can create a natural look or more of a smokey look. If you want me to post a tutorial with this palette then just let me know :)

Collection Colour Match Foundation

Hey guys it's Katie,

Today i'm reviewing the new collection colour match foundation in shade porcelain. It retails for £2.99 at my local boots.
Firstly I want to apologize if this picture scares you lol, I just wanted to show you a before and after picture. This foundation claims to adapt to your skin tone which is a big claim for such an inexpensive product.
The first thing I noticed about the foundation was it was very dark considering it was the lightest shade out of all of them. The formula is extremely thick, I could tip my hand upside down and none of it would drip.
I started to apply the foundation and was worried about how much darker it was than my natural skin tone. Once blended out it was still pretty orange/dark and it had extremely light coverage.

So sorry for this terribly unflattering photo, I look totally demented in this. But anyway, as you can see the foundation is a completely different shade to my neck, I left this foundation on for around 30 mins to see if the foundation needed more time to set and it looked exactly the same 30 mins later. It looked extremely cakey but you could still see all my imperfections underneath.
I used my real techniques expert face brush to apply it which is one of my favorite brush for applying any foundation.
I really love alot of collection's products but unfortunately this disappointed me :(

Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit

Hey guys it's Katie,

Today i'm reviewing the seventeen define and conquer contour kit, unfortunately this product is only available in the UK. This product retails for £5.99 at my local boots store.

This product came out as a new release around Christmas time so I've had plenty of time to test this product out. The first thing I noticed was how similar the packaging is to nars products, this packaging feels very sturdy though and I love that it includes a good sized mirror inside.

As for the actual product itself I think its flawless. It comes with a yellow undertoned powder which is perfect for setting any under-eye makeup. It also comes with a bronzer, at first I thought this bronzer was going to be very muddy and orange but once applied it is just as good as some of the high end bronzers I have tried. The powder is so finely milled and is pigmented and blendable. I really have nothing bad to say about this product, this is my holy grail go to contour kit. Would recommend this to anyone.

My Tattoo's !!!

Hey guys it's Katie,

Thought I would do something a bit different today and show you my tattoo's. I started getting my tattoo's in February 2015 (the month I turned 18). It's now July and I have 3 tattoo's lol.

This was my first tattoo that I ever got, it's on my wrist, I got it the day after I turned 18. I had been looking at this tattoo for at least 6 months before I went ahead and got it. I didn't want the tattoo exactly the same as the original photo so the artist tweaked it for me and put a paw print inside as I am an animal lover and have 5 gorgeous pets of my own :) As it was my first I found this tattoo pretty intense and quite painful, it was just about bearable for me. Me and my mum got matching ones :)

My second tattoo is for my mum and dad, they have done so much for me and I wanted to get something to honour them, I got this in late march 2015. This one was a complete spur of the moment decision, I saw that a new tattoo shop had opened up where I lived and were health authority approved so I thought, why not !?. I absolutely love this tattoo so much that I ended up going back to the same lace for me third tattoo. This tattoo is just under the crease of my elbow. Surprisingly the pain wasn't too bad with this one, yes it hurt but I was able to sit comfortable through it. This is by far my favorite tattoo that I have x

Sorry if this tattoo looks a bit bloody and swollen in the photo, I had just had it done. People may think that this looks like a really stupid tattoo but to me there is ALOT of meaning behind it. The tattoo stands for "You'll never walk alone" I wanted something small so I didn't get the whole sentence. This is a phrase that means both alot to me and my dad. We said if we were ever going to get matching tattoos (unfortunately he cant due to medical problems) that this would be what he wanted, so just before fathers day I went out and got this in secret and surprised him :) He was over the moon and that meant the world to me.

I definitely plan on getting more tattoos in the not to distant future, I don't want to be covered in tattoos but I would like quite a few.

Would You Rather Beauty Tag

Hey guys it's Katie,

Today I thought I would do something a bit different and do the would you rather beauty tag that was created by zoella and tanya burr. Let's get started xxx

1. Would you rather only ever wear eye makeup or skin makeup?
I would definitely have to choose skin makeup for this. I have acne prone skin and do not feel confident with no foundation on x
2. Would you rather cut off all your hair, or never cut your hair again?
I love long hair so I would definitely never cut my hair again. If I cut all my hair off there's nothing that I could do with it, at least if I had long hair than I could style it x
3. Would you rather always wear your clothes too big, or too small?

I suffer with bloating so I hate clothes being tight on me, so I would have to have clothes too big x
4. If you were given £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

Definitely makeup !!! I am the biggest makeup addict ever, don't get me wrong I love fashion but I don't have a passion for that where as I do for makeup x
5. Would you rather wear lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

Lipstick as eyeliner, at least I could pair it with a suitable eye look, don't really fancy black or brown lips :/
6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or Biker Shorts in public?

Probably MC hammer pants as I hate tight fitting clothes and especially shorts x
7. Would you rather never be able to fill in your eyebrows or only fill them in using a sharpie?

Definitely never fill my eyebrows in again, could not deal with walking around with 2 slugs on my face x
8. Would you rather never pluck your eyebrows, or never shave your legs?

Never shave my legs again, I usually wear trousers or leggings so at least I could hide it :)

Thanks for reading, Make sure you follow as sometime today there will be a review on a new foundation that i'm testing out x

Zoella Kissy Missy and Foam Sweet Foam Review

Hey guys it's Katie,

Today i'm reviewing some of the products from zoella's new tutti frutti collection. Whilst shopping yesterday (see my drugstore haul: http://makeupmadnessuk.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/mini-drugstore-haul.html) I decided to pick up the kissy missy lip balm and the foam sweet foam shower gel.

The foam sweet foam shower gel smells like heaven !!! It certainly has a very fruity scent which lingers which I like. The formula itself is very creamy and definitely moisturizes the skin. The one thing I can't get over is how cool this shower gel looks, it has a pearlescent pink sheen to it which makes it the perfect "girly" product. This retails for £3.50 in my local superdrug.

The one thing that sold me on this product is that it's not tested on animals. Being the ultimate animal lover this makes it a gold star in my book. Next I picked up the kissy missy lip balm which to be honest I wasn't as pleased with.

I smelt the balm and to me it didn't smell fruity at all, it smelt like the makeup you get as a child. On the plus side I love the colour of the balm, at first I was a bit scared that it was going to come out that bright but was pleasantly surprised  when it came out pretty sheer in coverage.

As for the actual formula it definitely moisturized my lips well and did not look to strong. After this one runs out I would certainly purchase it again. This is priced at £3 in my local superdrug.

Gosh Mineral Powder Brush Review

Hey guys it's Katie,

Today i'm reviewing the gosh mineral powder brush. (I was sent this for free for review purposes). My holy grail product is the gosh mineral powder (check out my review: http://makeupmadnessuk.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/gosh-mineral-powder-review.html) but I was using a £12 real techniques brush which not everybody can afford.

I tweeted about my blog and GOSH cosmetics saw my tweet and offered to send me a mineral powder brush to review. The brush came through the post this morning so I could not wait to give it a go.

The first thing I noticed about the brush was how soft it was, I feel that it was just as soft as real techniques brushes. I also liked that the bristles were very densely packed which makes it perfect for buffing the powder in.

I have to say that I prefer using this brush over my real techniques retractable kabuki brush. The only downfall to this brush is that I had a very small bit of shedding but it's not something to really worry about and I would certainly  repurchase it in the future.

This brush retails for £7.99 in my local superdrug x

Please share my blog on twitter and facebook, it would really help me out :)

Mini Drugstore Haul !

Hey guys it's Katie,

Today I thought I would do something a bit different then the normal review I do. I went in to town today and saw some new products that I could not resist getting.

Now firstly, who doesn't love zoella? I certainly do, so when I saw the launch of her new tutti frutti collection I could not wait to try it.

I picked up the foam sweet foam shower gel (love the name btw!) and the kissy missy lip balm. A review on these products will be coming shortly :)

Secondly was some new makeup items that were released. I picked up:
- collection colour match foundation in porcelain
- bourjois 12hr aqua blush in nude
- makeup revolution salvation velvet matte lip lacquer in what I believe

I can't wait to try these products and of course a review on all of these will be up within this week so make sure you follow me so you don't miss out x

Rimmel Wonder'full Waterproof Mascara Review

Hey guys it's Katie,

Today i'm reviewing the new rimmel wonder'full waterproof mascara. This mascara retails for £7.99 at my local superdrug store.

I want to start off by saying that I absolutely love the packaging of this mascara, the eye catching bright teal blue colour was one of the first things that caught my eye.

I have extremely oily eyelids and struggle to find a mascara that will actually stay on for more than an hour. I was skeptical about this mascara at first as it is a very "wet" formula and the fact that it contained argan oil in it kind of frightened me aswell. I was going out for a meal with family that evening so I decided to test it out. I purposely did not take a travel mirror in my handbag so I didn't keep fussing with it lol.

When I got home the first thing I did was look in the mirror. I was so happy because I had no smudging AT ALL. I was shocked.

This mascaras fine bristles make it extremely easy to hug all of your lashes and give it a perfect coating. This is now one of my top mascaras and I will definitely be repurchasing it in the future.

GOSH Mineral Powder Review

Hey guys it's Katie,

Today i'm reviewing the GOSH Mineral Powder, this powder retails for £9.99 at my local superdrug.

To be honest, I really don't have a bad thing to say about this product. I suffer from acne and I find that this is the perfect amount of coverage to cover my imperfections. This product is very buildable and does not look cakey whatsoever. This powder is extremely finely milled and gives you that airbrushed finish.

This powder has wiped out all of my other foundations and this is now my holy grail product. I have had this product for around 3 months now and use it around 3 times a week and I still have loads left. What I like about this product is that you don't have to keep on building, within 1 layer I feel happy and ready to face the day.

The only downfall to applying this product is in my opinion a regular powder brush will not give you the desired coverage. I prefer to use a more densely packed powder brush. I use the real techniques retractable kabuki brush.

This brush is perfect for applying this mineral powder in circular motions to achieve that flawless finish. This brush retails for £11.99 in my local boots store.

another blog will be up soon so keep your eyes peeled.

W7 In The Nude Palette Review

Hey guys it's Katie, Today I'm reviewing the W7 in the nude palette. This palette is suppose to be a dupe for Urban decays naked 3 palette.

I personally love the naked 3 palette but at the steep price of £38 I was looking for something more affordable to recommend. This palette retails for £5. To me the packaging feels quite sturdy put it is a pain to open if you have no nails. When I opened the palette the look and feel of it was very cheap to me. It came with a brush with a sponge tip applicator on one side and a synthetic tip the other side. The synthetic tip was not that well put together and shed quite a bit.

As for the quality of the eyeshadows I was extremely disappointed. When I first swatched the lighter shades they came off very chalky with not much pigment. When I swatched the darker shades the pigmentation is good but its so powdery !!! I didnt even end up trying this on my eyes as I knew the amount of fallout would be ridiculous.

Overall i'm pretty disappointed in this product. If your looking for an affordable rose gold toned eyeshadow palette I would go with the Iconic 3 palette from makeup revolution which is only £4.

Simple Cleansing Wipes (new formulation) Review

Hey guys it's katie,

Today I thought I would do a review on the new formulation simple cleansing wipes. I have seen these wipes around my local supermarket before but have never been enticed to pick them up....until I saw that it says it will even remove waterproof mascara. Currently I just use a loreal cleansing water and regular cotton pads.

I have extremely oily eyelids so  I have to wear waterproof mascara and waterproof eyeliner to get it to hold. I went out for a meal with some family and got all glammed up so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to test this product out. When I got back from the meal I had slight smudging under my eyes anyway but it wasn't too bad.

The verdict ??? ............... These wipes are incredible ! Within 2 wipes my eye makeup and mascara was completely removed. I was shocked. My whole face of makeup came off with just one wipe and I was wearing A LOT of makeup that evening.  The real test was if when I woke up the next morning if I had any smudging still.

Even when I use my loreal cleansing water I still wake up with panda eyes no matter how hard I tried to get the makeup off that previous evening. I woke up and looked in the mirror and was pleasantly suprised to find no smudging of any residue of makeup on my face whatsoever. I would totally recommend this product to anyone.

These wipes retail for £3.49 at my local boots store. Although the price may seem steep for a pack of face wipes it is totally worth it in my opinion.

Thanks for reading,
Keep your eyes peeled for the next blog post soon on a makeup palette.

Real Techniques Sculpting Brush Set Review

Hey guys it's Katie,

I know I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd get back into blogging and start off with a review. Today I'm reviewing the new Real Techniques sculpting set. This set retails for £20.99 in my local super drug. I own quite a few other real techniques brushes which I love so I had high hopes for this set.

In this set it comes with:
- sculpting brush
- fan brush
- setting brush

I find the sculpting brush perfect for contouring the face. It has a an angled edge which is perfect for getting in the hollows of your cheeks to create a realistic but natural shadow to the face.

A lot of people do not know usually what the fan brush is used for. The fan brush is perfect for adding highlighht to the face. You add highlight just above where you have contoured to bring light and shape to the face. This is how you make your cheekbones stand out.

I find the setting brush perfect for using a yellow undertoned powder under the eye to also help brighten up the face. It can also be used as a perfect travel brush for if you need to powder and oily areas on the go.

Throughout this set the brushes are excellent quality and extremely soft. The thing I really like about real techniques brushes is that they are all synthetic cruelty free hair which is a bonus for me as I am an animal lover.

Overall I would totally recommend this set for anybody who is a professional at contouring or if you are just starting out. I find that the price is very resonable considering the quality of the brushes.

Thanks for reading and look out for another blog post soon smile emoticon
